The Deck 747 G-BYGA Timepiece

We at The Deck 747 by Doors2Manual are excited to share with you an exciting project that we have been working on together with a watch designer based in Cape Town with a shared love for the Queen of the Skies.
The idea of wearing a piece of aviation history is something that many of us enjoy, is required in many aviation roles for the day job, and is of course a perfect gift idea. 
With our partner’s passion for watch design and aviation, and of course both our love for our 747 and extensive experience in selling airline/aircraft memorabilia worldwide, we tried our best to capture the spirit of the engineering excellence and craftsmanship that defined the 747’s design and manufacturing.
With all components meticulously machined and finished in the workshop and studio in Cape Town, we did not compromise by considering production in China like many other watch brands do.
The watch case is machined from the fuselage sections of British Airways G-BYGA , which was recently retired, with the top deck preserved as The Deck 747 in Barton as a flight sim and events centre. Additional components are machined from titanium and ceramic coated, finished off with a handmade vintage-style nubuck leather strap, making it truly unique.
For the dial, we have included a choice of wording such as Captain, First Officer or Cabin crew (anything else available that you want subject to character limitation or you can request without entirely), a choice of either a BOAC or BA speedmark at the top and a small image of the aircraft at the bottom.

Custom engraving included to the rear of the casing, such as the example render attached. Again please add a note at checkout. Some limitations will apply to length of text, the team will discuss with you before engraving.
Each piece is carefully assembled and finished by hand and comes with a unique serial number assigned to the limited run of 747 pieces we will be producing shortly.
