Primera Air Nordic YL-PSD (now Jet2) 737-800 corroded fuselage window
A very interesting find! This window is from YL-PSD Boeing 737-800. It started its life with Czech in 2000. Through various airline moves it was transferred to Primera Air Nordic as YL-PSD in Jan-15. The Primera Group ceased operations in Oct-18 and the aircraft was returned to GECAS and stored at Woensdrecht, Netherlands.
It was re-registered LZ-GNB two weeks later and stored until it was sold to The Dart Group Plc (owners of Jet2) as G-DRTW and leased to Jet2.com in Mar-19. Current, updated 12-Feb-22.
In Feb-17 whilst still with Primera, the aircraft was ferried to East Midlands (UK) to be repainted. When the old paint was stripped off it was found that the aircraft had extensive corrosion. It ferried to Amsterdam in early Mar-17 for inspection and it was decided that the aircraft needed partial re-skinning. It was ferried to Norwich in mid Apr-17 for the work to be done... it was completed 10 months later and ferried to Manchester with most of the fuselage in primer to be repainted.
The aircraft now operates for Jet2.com as G-DRTW.
This window is cut from the original corroded removed skin and is approx 58x48cm. The Primera grey lettering and yellow livery colours can still be seen on the inside of the window and even a small section of blue from its time with Travel Service at the top of the window as seen in the photo.
Standard imperfections from paint removal and cutting. The tape on the window can be removed easily.
