Curtiss P-40 Warhawk RH tail fillet tag
The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk is an American single-engined, single-seat, all-metal fighter and ground-attack aircraft that first flew in 1938. It was the first Allied fighter supplied to the USSR under the Lend-Lease agreement.
This particular section came from one of the only parts not significantly corroded of a P-40 tail pulled from the mud close to Arkhangel, Russia. The part number is clearly seen in the photos however the original reg cannot be tracked.
It is said due to the nature of the tails position this would have been a controlled belly landing.
Reg cannot be confirmed.
